The Cates family has returned to terrorize Joe Pickett and his family. THe two surviving members of the family is the mother Brenda and her son Dallas. Brenda is in prison and will be for the rest of her life. She is a paraplegic and has a very high tech chair with a hidden phone. She is able to contact Dallas to give him instructions.What ensues is a masterfully written tale of deceit and acts of violence. Enjoyed immensely!!! My highest recommendation!!

Another great, exciting story! I enjoyed every twist and turn. It all tied together beautifully with the other books in the series. My only disappointment was that it ended too quickly, even if I really enjoyed the ending.

As always a exciting read. Action from page 1 to the end. Many old characters from other books in this series make an appearance in this book. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Contrived and dull. People are mechanical, Joe is a much more of a sanctimonious old bore. Much less of interest about Wyoming. This is not worth the money.

I've purchased every book in this series and by far this is the worst one. I've enjoyed every other book but this one stinks it up big time. Don't waste your money! Maybe it's time to retire Joe!

This latest edition of the Joe Pickett series was enjoyable, but the books are beginning to read like episodes of the week of a crime series. Not a bad thing since we know the characters and history; but since these will not likely turn into a tv series, I would like to see a return to more substance with all the regular characters more involved in the story telling, instead of being primarily in the background. Even Nate jumped in and then jumped back out this time around; yes, I know this is how Nate operates- on the fringe.
Joe, the rest of the Picketts, Nate, and Dulce, are so familiar; I look forward to the next installment - though at a length that takes me longer than two nights to read.
Speaking of tv series; with Longmire ending with this next season on Netflix, let's keep the genre going with Joe Picket...just saying!
