Description

Don’t miss the JOE PICKETT series—now streaming on Paramount+

In this New York Times bestseller, Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett is determined to find out who put his daughter’s life in danger—even if it kills him.

Joe Pickett had good reason to dislike Dallas Cates, and now he has even more—Joe’s eighteen-year-old daughter, April, has run off with him. And then comes even worse news: She has been found in a ditch along the highway—alive, but just barely, the victim of blunt force trauma. Cates denies having anything to do with it, but Joe knows in his gut who’s responsible. What he doesn’t know is the kind of danger he’s about to encounter. Cates is bad enough, but Cates’s family is like none Joe has ever met.

This is my second time with this novel. Great read with lots of action and a very satisfying ending.

Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett’s daughter April left home to be with her boyfriend Dallas Cates, a champion bull rider. Then more bad news, April has been found lying in a ditch by the side of the road badly beaten and with severe head trauma. Then his good friend Nate Romanski has been shot and is not expected to survive. At the center of this is the dysfunctional Cate’s family and their psychotic mother Brenda. Non stop action on every page!! Another amazing read in this series!! My highest recommendation!!

Great action, story, and scenery as always. I wish that Joe was a little more realistic. For example, who reacts the way he does, almost without thinking? I think that CJ Box could round out his character more.

Next to the alien book this has been my least favorite book of the series.. way too dark for my liking… but the series overall is incredible and I’m already stressing about being finished with the series!!

Continued excellence: however, how did Nate find Lia in the end? I know it’s only fiction, but it’s a stretch! Keep it real!

I have enjoyed two of Box's books. They have an outstanding plot, never stop moving and are a joy to read.

THIS BOOK IS WORTH READING.

I read all 15 Joe Pickett novels over the past three or four months. Once I read the first one, I could not stop. These books combine the mountains, wildlife and nature with a great detective story and heroic, yet wonderfully flawed characters. Endangered was one of the best, combining in a terrific story all of the elements of a great C.J. Box novel. If you are thinking about reading Endangered as your first Pickett story, stop. Start with the first one and work your way forward one at a time. It is a great ride.

Had me guessing the whole time! Couldn't wait to to read further. A must read, I wish it had a longer ending but can't complain much with an ending like that 👍🏽👍🏽

Little unrealistic. Keep it simple stupid. That what I was always told.

Joe Pickett again proves he is a pickup trucks worst friend. This time in pursuit of one of the worst white trash families not being chased by Marshall Raylin Givens in Kentucky. So hard to get into repetitive junk from the likes of Patterson and his slick formulaic crew anymore. CJ rocks it again, couldn't put it down. Just not enough to go around, how about a netflix series?

I've read a number of C.J.Box's books and this is definitely his best; there is additional character development and even though this story stands on it's own, the ending is perfect for a follow-up sequel. A must read! Cincy Kid.

Sadly, offensive language in this book by Joe Pickett, comparing "Indians", not Native Americans, to criminals. It seems that no official reviewer has picked this up. My feelings of admiration about CJ Box have plummeted.

One of his best. My only complaint is that he doesn't write more per year. Having said that, I prefer quality like this to quantity. A great read.

I've read every Joe Picket novel. This character, and others, have all evolved over the years, as has Mr. Box. Don't get me wrong. All of the stories have been well crafted. I have enjoyed the continuing evolution of the Picket family and following their lives through the stories. They all seem like real people; the kind of people I would love to meet in real life.

I would love to read a novel about Nate Romanowski. A stand alone novel. I think he deserves one.

I will anxiously await the next installment of the lives of the Picket family and their friends.

"Endangered" is a great read, with all of the intrigue, danger and humanity you expect from Mr. Box. He knows the country and spins a very believable story. This one is highly recommended.
Directly derived from JUSTIFIED storyline!! Not good

The evil but intelligent mastermind mother, the brainwashed sons, the 'I wish I had had a daughter' line and even the weird combing of the hair scenario is straight out of Season 1 of JUSTIFIED. Shouldn't publishers watch for this kind of thing? Just wondering...

The best Joe Pickett book yet! Having watched these characters evolve over the years has been a joy. Can't fault anything. Makes you want to move there and invite them for dinner. C.J. Needs to write faster!
