A friend of Game Warden Joe Pickett has disappeared. He is accused of murdering two EPA Federal agent. He has disappeared in the mountains. An avid hunter he knows the territory better than Joe. A crooked EPA director is helping out a friend of his who is a neighbor of Butch Roberson, Joes friend. Butch’s house is blocking his few of a lake.A short time later agents from the EPA show on the property and tell him he is building on wetlands which is a lie and he has to move. They are also fining huge amounts of money every day if he does not return the land to the condition it was in prior to him bulldozing with his tractor to erect a home. What now ensues is the twisted abuse of power of the Director of the EPA. Another excellent read in this series!! Enjoyed immensely!! My highest recommendation!!

Guilty until proven innocent? Drones? Hellfire misses? Those things would normally get my attention but, in retrospect, not in the way they were used in this story. Almost lost me but I’ll try one more book.

I have enjoyed C.J.Box’s other books but this one was not only completely ridiculous but downright obnoxious. So disappointing. Be a very long time before I buy and read another one of his books.

Reminded me of a wonderful road trip we took to to the beautiful state of Wyoming.

CJ, please take us along with Picket till he retires as Wyatt Earp did, in his eighties. All your books are excellent, but the Picket series has what few others have: humanity, with a real believable honest to goodness characters capable of screwing up and still come up dandy. You're the Kent Krueger of your writing world.

I've been a fan of C. J. Box's work for a long time and I'm happy to say that his character development of Joe Pickett has matured. Initially Joe appeared to be kind of a bumbling wimp - no more. I highly recommend his books.

This was the first book I've read by C.J. Box. I quickly got into the story and became riveted with the characters. The author was very descriptive in his writing so it was easy for me to see in my head what he conveyed.
This book kept my attention and I did't want to put it down. It also had twists and turns and some I didn't see coming.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading well written, exciting books! I am now a fan of C.J. Box!!!

Set in the wilderness of Wyoming the adventures of an under paid over worked game warden, his family and their lives continues in this story with murder, intrigue, and abuse of government power.
Mr. Box has done it again, a page turner that will keep you guessing until the very end with colorful characters old and new!

Once again CJ Box has written a great novel. Part of the Joe Pickett series, it was 813 pages long and for some reason I feel cheated that it ended. It was such a good read I hope to find out what happens to Joe Pickett in his next novel. Hurry up and get it written. Mr. C. J. Box, thank you.

The wait for Breaking Point was well with it. Another finely crafted Joe Pickett novel. If this book does not scare you at least a little bit, it is too late for you. Great read. Realistic. Frightening. My only complaint is the loss of sleep since I could not put it down.

Took me less than two days.... Excellent escape novel in the same genre as other Pickett novels... Some heavy handed leaning in the 'conspiracy concept'...... But ending was justifiable and makes me ready for next one.....
